WELCOME TO THE Alfond Youth Center
Running Club
10 week session: Tuesday & Thursday for 30 minutes. Youth complete a 1 mile outdoor run, participate in circuit exercise in teh New Balance Foundation Youth Fitness Center and learn good nutrition.  Progress is measured by running time and distance, Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Girth and Fitness Assessment.

Kid Power
(Healthy Weight Initiative)
10 week session; 9/13/10 to 11/19/10; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 45 minutes. Youth will
complete 3 sets of 12 repetitions on eight pieces of youth-size resistance training equipment and two youth-size cardio machines. Youth will learn about nutrition, healthy menu choices, and portion control.  Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Girth, and Fitness Assessment will be measured.

Fit For Life
Children in the After School Program enjoy nutritionally balanced meals & snacks; learn proper nutrition; participate in fun gym activities; are introduced to New Balance Foundation Youth Fitness Center circuit training and have regular Fitness Assessments.

STEPS To A Healthier ME
FAMILIES gatehr each month for a free well balanced, well proportioned supper planned by Running Club and Kid Power children under the coaching of our Health Coordinator and a registered dietitian.  Children explain the meal and nutrition facts to their families.

offers programs for a lifelong healthy lifestyle. 

RUNNING CLUB ~ KID POWER ~ FIT FOR LIFE
are offered After School and during the day to accommodate
School Children and Home Schooled Children. 
STEPS To Healthier ME is an early evening Family Time Supper!

The Programs Are Free for Youth Members!!!
Children who complete a Running Club or Kid Power program will receive one free pair of  New Balance Fitness Shoes during the 2011/2012 school year.
