North End Night
COMING IN JUNE 2011
Who sponsors this? The North End Boys and Girls Club with the Living Water Community Church, with a great deal of help from Arthur and Connie Turmelle and other neighborhood residents.
How is this supported? This is made possible completely with donations. Cash and supplies with most of this coming from North End merchants, community members, Waterville city government and our friends in the trade union movement. Signs handcrafted by the kids in the afterschool program at the North End Club display the names of all supporters individually. After the event, we bring the signs to each of the sponsors. Some still have their last years sign prominently displayed.
What will be there? Food (Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips, soda, water, cotton candy, sno cones); kids games with prizes for all; Face Painting; Dance and Karate exhibition; School Backpacks given by LWCC; Music; a dunk tank (25 cents a ball) and bounce houses); prize drawings and fun.
It’s all free, except, of course, the dunk tank. Proceeds go to support the North End Boys and Girls Club.
Last Year: About 700 people attended. We knew this pretty well because of the numbered ticket roll. Everyone had a great time. A bunch of people pitched in to help pick everything up, We left the park spotless.
Thank you in advance for all the help you provide. This has become a major way to build a sense of community which benefits us all.
