The AYC offers a variety of programs from learning to swim at all ages to the Dolphins Swim Team. We also offer Water Aerobics, Lifeguard Training, and SCUBA lessons!

Lap Swim

| Therapy Open |
|
Takes place in 92° water. For all adults. Children who need physical therapy are also welcome when
accompanied by therapist or parent. |

| Pre-School Open |
|
| For children up to 6 years old with an adult in the pool. |
|
| Family Open |
|
| For families to come and have fun in the water. Parents must be in water with children or watching them. Children under 6 must have parent in the water. |

| Home School Lessons |
6+ years |
| For children who are schooled at home. Counts as a Phys Ed course. |
|
| Home School Open |
6+ years |
| For children who are schooled at home. An adult needs to be in the water for children under the age of six. All children must be members and pay $10.00 for 2 months of swimming. |

| Pre-High School |
|
| For any high school students who wish to practice before the high school season begins. |

| Private Swim Lessons |

| For children 6 – 14 who are members. |

11 Week Sessions
Runs October 7th—December 9th, 2006
Children need to be able to swim one length front or back crawl (25 yards) without assistance. |

| Mid-Maine Dolphins Swim Team |
6-18 years |
Children need to be able to swim 25 yards front and back crawl. Children will be grouped according to age and ability and are coached in the four basic strokes, turns and racing starts. The swim team is a registered YMCA and USA team. Swimmers are able to compete in YMCA dual meets, USA development invitational and championship meets.

Tiny Tots with Parents |

| An opportunity for children to learn safe water fun and appropriate skill with parents. |

| Jr Seals |
3-4 years |
This class is for children who can demonstrate skills learned in Tiny Tots and are now ready to swim
without a parent. With Instructor’s permission only. |

| Flippers |
4-5 years |
| Children learn how to float, jump in, and work on arm strokes and independent swimming. |
|
| Seals |
4-6 years |
| This class is for children who can swim the width of the small pool by themselves and float on their backs. |
|
| Advanced Flipper |
5-7 years |
| This class is for children who are working on beginner strokes and can swim ½ length of small pool, also scull the width of small pool. |

| Level 1 & 2 |
6+ years |
| Children learn how to put their faces in, float, glide and beginning the strokes. |
|
| Level 3 & 4 |
6+ years |
| Children learn front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, sidestroke and more. |

| Level 5 |
6+ years |
| Children work on endurance, strength and correcting their strokes. |
|
| Level 6 |
6+ years |
| Children perfect strokes while swimming long distances and demonstrate understanding of previous knowledge. |

| Adult Lessons |
|
| Learn to swim or perfect your strokes. |
|
| Senior Aqua Fitness |
|
| For senior citizens 65+ years or by special permission from the Aquatics Director or Assistant Aquatic Director. For people with arthritis, joint replacement etc. This class moves every muscle and joint gently. |

| Water Aerobics |
|
| Core aerobic exercises combined with stretching, toning and strengthening. Suitable for all ages and abilities. |
|
| Lifeguard Course |
|
| Must be 15+ years old. Learn life guarding skills, CPR/FPR, AED, etc. |
|
| Water Safety Instructor |
|
Must be 16+ years old. Learn how to teach other
people to swim |
|
| CPR & First Aid Course |
|
| Can sign up for Adult, Child or Infant CPR or all three. Can also sign up for First Aid. New this fall: Emergency Response Course! |
