THE BASEBALL GODS WERE WATCHING OUT FOR US AS THE SOX WON 7 TO 2 AND THE YANKEES LOST

We arrived at the Alfond Youth Center at 4:00 am to get ready for our 7th Annual Baseball Fantasy Trip. While we were waiting for the bus to arrive, it started to rain and by 4:45 am we had loaded the bus and every one had arrived and we headed South toward Maryland. We had a slight delay at our first stop as we realized that we did not have the ez-pass sticker to pay the tolls. We finally got on the road and after 2 or 3 bathroom breaks, a lunch break, and a lot of movies we arrived at Camden Yards at 5:30 pm. We watched batting practice for the Sox and took plenty of pictures and had supper before the game started. The Sox got off to a good start and we led 2 to 0 in the first inning. The Sox got some timely hitting and with a good pitching performance from Dice-K for the win. We arrived at our Hotel in Laurel, Maryland at around 11:15pm. By Midnight everyone was in bed as we had a long day even though the Sox won. We will go into the Harbor in Baltimore in the pm tomorrow and then see the Orioles and the Sox on Wednesday night. Hope the weather was good back in Maine as we had a great day weather wise.

THE BASEBALL GODS WERE SLEEPING TODAY AS THE SOX LOST TO BALTIMORE AND THE YANKEES WON AGAINST THE BLUE JAYS

We had a tired bunch of people this morning so we slept in a little later and had a late breakfast. Some of the people took a nap after breakfast while some others walked to the shopping center to do some shopping before we headed to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. The weather was beautiful in Baltimore and we arrived at the Harbor at around 1:30 pm and everyone seemed to go in different directions before they had supper and headed to Camden Yards. The Harbor offered something for everyone and by 6:00 pm everyone arrived at the ball park to watch the Sox beat the Orioles. The Sox got off to a great start by taking a 4 to 0 lead before the ceiling fell in and we were losing by a score of 11 to 4. The final score ended up at 11 to 6, but the Yankees also won.

I hope that everyone back home enjoyed the weather this week as we had a great time on our trip.

The Baseball Gods Helped Us Somewhat As The Yankees Got Clobbered By The Blue Jays

We had another good day today weather wise as we arrived in Philadelphia at about 12:30 pm and we did the Mint first, followed by Franklin's Grave Site, the Bourse for lunch, and then Independence Hall. We got our pictures of the Liberty Bell and then we headed for the Bus as we wanted to check into our rooms before we went to the game. Some of the rooms were not ready when we got there but it didn't take them very long to have everyone checked in. We left for the ball park at 5:15 pm and the traffic was heavy getting out. There wasn't a lot of hitting as the Nationals ended up beating the Phillies by a score of 4 to 3. The Sox didn't play today as they start a series in Toronto on Friday. Hopefully the weather will hold off again as we go to New York City on Friday morning. Hope everyone in Maine had a great day

THE BASEBALL GODS WERE WATCHING OUT FOR BOTH THE RED SOX AND YANKEES AS BOTGH TEAMS WON:

We left Philadelphia at 9:30 am and headed for New York City. We got dropped off on the corner of 59th Street and Madison Avenue and everyone went there own way to explore central Park or 5th Avenue. We met the bus at 4:00 pm and we headed for Shea Stadium to see the Mets play the Astros. The Stadium was easy to find, but bus parking was very difficult. We finally found the right parking lot and we all headed in to see the game. Our seats were way up high but we were able to see all of the infield plays as we were behind the first baseman. The Mets won 3 to 0 as all of the scoring was done in the first 2 innings. The pitcher from the Astros pitched a great game as he retired the last 20 batters in order but Juan Santana shut down their offense with some nice pitching of his own. We arrived at the Hotel at around 11:00 pm and hopefully we will get a good nights sleep as we travel to the Baseball Hall of Fame in the morning. The weather here was warm and sunny and we had a great day. Hope the weather in Cooperation is nice on Saturday.

Day 5 (Click HERE to view pictures!)

THE BASEBALL GODS WERE SLEEPING TODAY AS THE SOX LOST 11 TO 0 AND THE YANKEES WON 5 TO 3:

We slept in this morning as we had a late night and after a really good breakfast we loaded the bus and by 9:30 am we headed for Cooperstowns Town and the Baseball Hall of Fame. We arrived at about 1:45 pm and we spent the next five hours touring the Town and the Hall of Fame. It was all about baseball today as every place was baseball oriented. We had our fill of baseball and then we headed for our Hotel where we spent the night and on Sunday we head home. The weather was great today as some of us went down to Doubleday Park and watched some older players from the Boston area play a double header. It was pretty good baseball and it was interesting watching some older guys playing a young man's game. After a good nights sleep we will be heading home early in the am. Hope every one had a great day back in Maine and we will see you around supper time on Sunday.

Day 6 (Click HERE to view pictures!)

After a great and long day at the Baseball Hall of Fame we slept in a little later on Sunday am and after breakfast we loaded the bus and headed home to Maine at 9:30 am. We stopped for lunch at 11:30 am and our last stop was in Kennebunk before we headed to the Alfond Youth Center. We arrived home at 4:30 pm and everyone was happy to be home and able to sleep in their own bed. A special thank you to our driver Ed Miller on a great job getting us to our destinations on time, and a big thank you to the participants of the 2008 Baseball Fantasy Trip. You made my job easy (Yes, even Al) so that I could enjoy the trip also. I hope to see all of you in another year as we will be having our 8th annual Baseball Fantasy Trip.
